What is Alpha?

Alpha is an opportunity to explore life and the Christian faith, in a friendly, open and informal environment.
Alpha in Erskine is not so much a course, but an experience! Gathering online once a week over a ten week period, each Alpha brings together people from every walk of life.

No matter where Alpha takes place, the format is the same. We eat together, we listen to a talk and then we gather together in small groups for discussion. Over 29 million people across the globe have experienced Alpha.

Who is Alpha for?

Alpha is for everyone and anyone. The beauty of Alpha is that there are no questions that you should be afraid to ask, too silly or too simple. Alpha has no prerequisites whatsoever. We come together with one another as we are, free to be ourselves.

Would you like to find out more?

Starting soon we have a new Alpha experience. Why not watch the promotional video and register by completing the form below.
Is There More to Life Than This?

Yes. No. Maybe. Probably? We all have questions that we want answered. Alpha provides an opportunity for those questions to be answered. Alpha is a series that seeks to answer the deepest questions core to our identity through meal-sharing, prepared talks and open conversation. It’s about discovering, discussing, and finding a place to belong with friends, both new and old. Everyone is welcome. No question is too simple, no answer prepared. You’re free to discuss as much [or little] as you wish.

A typical Alpha session meets once a week for 10 weeks. All Alpha sessions are free of charge, and you’re welcome to check out the first week of a session with no commitment.

What to expect-

Food and Fellowship- Since the beginning of time people have gathered around a meal to come together, to enjoy each other’s company and catch up on life. We encourage the same at Alpha so come hungry because there will be great food both physically and communally.
Talk- The talks are around 30-minute videos. They are created to ask and begin to answer the questions that brought you to Alpha, “Who is God?” “How can we have faith?” “What am I made for?”

Small Group Discussion- Following the talk everyone transitions into small groups to discuss the questions that the talk may have raised. Discussion is encouraged but not required and we work diligently to create an open environment for positive discussion.
